Thomas L. Stone, MD

NOHA Professional Advisory Board Member Thomas L. Stone, MD, is a Diplomate of the American Board of Environmental Medicine, Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and Medical Director of the Center for Bioenergetic Medicine in Kempton, Illinois.

Dr. Stone is very concerned about therats to our immune system from: (1) our contaminated WATER SUPPLIES with known immunotoxins that even the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has issued warnings about; (2) PROCESSED FOODS that contain thousands of food additives, many of which are toxic enough to be listed as known or suspected carcinogens. Others interfere with digestion or tie up essential nutrients; and (3) ANTIBIOTICS that are commonly used in animal agriculture here, while the United Kingdom has restricted their use for more than ten years.

Dr. Stone points out many even more frightening dangers to our immune systems from the constant bombardment by LOW-LEVEL RADIATION emitted by most of the technological "comforts" that have recently entered our lives – microwave ovens, digital watches, calculators, computers, airport and weather radar stations, microwave alarms and communications, fluorescent lights, unshielded electric wires, electric motors, and so on.

He also states that for proper functioning of our immune systems, our eyes need to receive the FULL SPECTRUM OF LIGHT, which stimulates the function of glands in our brain. Yet many of us rarely "see" natural, full-spectrum light. Instead, much of our time is spent indoors under artificial light or outdoors looking through contact lenses or glasses that block important wavelengths of light.

Dr. Stone has described to us and uses "Kombucha" Tea. It is a sweet-sour, fermented, acidic, slightly carbonated beverage, which has been described as either a wine that tastes like a delicious tea or an unusual tea that tastes like a rare wine. There are claims that Kombucha tea is a "fountain of youth elixir" used in China for thousands of years. It is purported to be a ancient tonic created by growing a so-called Manchurian mushroom on sweetened tea. The mystical aspect of Kombucha tends to attract and convert many people in search of perfect health and longevity. See NOHA article about: Kombucha Tea.
