CHANGING COURSE IN A CHANGING CLIMATE: SOLUTIONS FOR HEALTH AND THE ENVIRONMENT

June 1-3 Beyond Pesticides had their 25th National Pesticide Forum in Chicago, "Changing Course in a Changing Climate: Solutions for Health and the Environment." A number of NOHA members attended and NOHA was a co-sponsor of the Forum. Eminent scientists were gathered telling us the human health effects from tiny doses of the pesticides used in many of our homes, schools, offices, and on most of the land used for growing our contaminated food. Activists also were gathered, who inspired us by their success eliminating the toxic chemicals.

Commissioner Frank Avila of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago and his wife, Sherry, attended. He had presented Neil Levin, NOHA President, with an April 19, 2007, "RESOLUTION" passed by the District in praise of Beyond Pesticides saying, in part, "Beyond Pesticides has become a national network that has kept pressure on the chemical industry to keep public health and environmental concerns as a priority" and "works with allies . . . to lead the transition to a world free of toxic pesticides."
